At the Mississippi State Competition last month, somebody played Uptown Funk, and practically everyone in the room started dancing(That made for some good videos). I guess the lyrics in that song don’t count as Grandma-appropriate?
This playlist is gearing up to be quite epic indeed! I am adding some of my favorites into the mix as well.
Does RECF already have plans for a DJ/music at the event? It would be a shame for all of this music NOT to be used at Worlds.
They cannot play a Spotify playlist at the VEX World Championship for legal reasons, because it is a public event. Either way, I still rather like this idea of creating a playlist and have been doing my part in adding some music. I’ll try to continue doing so.
I finally got around to adding some songs… I really didn’t realize how different the VRC community’s music tastes were! This is awesome guys.
I’m going to try and sort through all of it (all 30 hours…) and keep the good songs I would like to hear at a tournament, as well as get rid of some songs that are either:
- really really weird
- not appropriate for a competition (explicit language / other)

Thanks for noticing my pic! (It was from years ago:o) If you look closely, there are white pawns at e4 and d5 and a fianchettoed black bishop, which leads me to believe it’s a sort of weird King’s Indian thing, probably against an unconventional Queen’s pawn opening.
