Squarebots?

Please post your thoughts on the assembly and applications of the Sqaurebot. And please, be honest!

What do you mean by this, how to assemble it?

It assembles nicely, and works fine for driving around or letting the Autonomous mode run. The basic chassis can be used for other projects.

It covers all the “basics” that you need to know about assembling the Vex Kit…

i agree with marko, it works for many projects, i have rebuilt the same concept of the squarebot many times over

When our Vex team designed our FVC robots we noticed we had built the square-bot chassis but it works great so we built another one with some better “HAR” modifications

Oh and I like your signature Bobby C:)

The first design of our robot for the FVC was a square bot chassis. It’s a great chassis and easy to assemble but not good for much in the H-A-R comp unless your just going to push balls.

its very nice i suggest putting the collars on the end of the wheel axles to prevent the wheel from falling off.

This is exactly what we did. We were very successful with it too. Our team managed to get 20 softballs into the low goal and at the end of the round we cleaned out the other goal. Our new robot can hang push balls into the low goal and score two balls in the high goal during autonomous.

Yeah, that tough little chassis has done us pretty good
Haymarket-Battlefield Scrimmage- surprised everyone and blew away the competition fairly good
VA Competition- Third seeded alliance, semi-finals
Gar-Field Scrimmage-

  1. 3196A- Semi-finals
  2. 3196B- Finals

Most other teams are building over-modded chassis and we keep it simplistic and it shows in the rankings how good that chassis is.
