St. Catharines VEX Robotics Championship Results

This past Saturday the St. Catharines VEX Robotics Championship was held at Holy Cross CSS. The event featured many elite level robots as seen by the scoring in the Robot Skills Challenge. This tournament also featured something I’ve never seen before, with the top three scorers in the Robot Skills Challenge all ending up on the same alliance. (The eventual winning alliance.)

Here’s a listing of all the award winners.

Thanks for posting this !

I’m surprised to see that 27 is the highest score. Was that one tube scored and autonomous high hang ?

Congrats to both teams for performing well in Autonomous.

I didn’t see the run in question, but I’m fairly certain it was 6 tubes spread over 3 goals.

wow
were the top drivers challenge robots both claws?
any vids/pics of the event?
a nice solid 111 for skills challenge…

All three teams that scored 111 in skills (1447, 1114A, 1509B) all had pinch claws that picked up an entire stack at once.

Here are a couple of media stories on the event with video:

How was 1447 possibly second round given that they placed first in robot skills?

Also how many VRC competitions are there in Ontario now?

Nice scores!

no offence but could you stop posting on (really) old treads that died a long time ago with no productive information. it confuses me sometimes because i think they are still talking about gateway and not round up and im sure im not the only one

I second Paul T. 27’s sentiment regarding your extraordinarily prolific posting on dead threads, especially when it happens with generally short and simple statements that don’t contain much to contribute (or even any questions). I find it confusing, distressing and humorously aggravating to not only discover that the revived threads are minimally relevant to Gateway and from long ago, but also that you, Bot-E Builders are the most consistent poster of this type. I have gotten used to purposefully disregarding such short statements as content-free and whimsical in nature.

It’s nice that your sub-sentence sentiments on these [comparably] ancient threads are positive, but it would be even nicer to not have my hopes of reading new and interesting threads constantly dashed and eventually crushed by these posts. Childhood disillusionment is never fun.

Anyways, as a disclaimer, I mean no ill personal sentiment. Merely advocating a change of pace [in posting], advice to what I believe is a middle-school team/club (cornerstone robotics). My stiff diction might sound angry, but I’m not trying to censor you. Continue as you like…but I for one, though respecting of your evident experience at worlds and experience as team 323B’s coach, am finding it hard to take you seriously from what seems like your attempt towards posting as much as possible for the sake of posting. Perhaps I am the one lacking in convention by having a downright measly post count. But I really craft each post I make in order to be the most helpful that I can be, while trying not to get on people’s nerves. VEX forums is a great site that encourages conversation, discussion and engineering repartee, but let’s not discredit this collaborative environment’s professionalism or relevancy by diluting useful content.

TL;DR - Post useful, relevant things. People will appreciate that.

^ that was put the best way it possibly can
+1

Now your doing just what he’s doing. Posting un-useful things. If your going to try to straighten him out, then do it in a message. Your not really contributing to helping this thread die again by just reposting on it. Yes it got my hopes up also to see a tournament thread and then find out to see that it was just revived, but you could’ve stated that in a message, rather than public and single him out. Ohh geez, now im just posting random crap to :stuck_out_tongue:

Under that logic, shouldn’t your own post have been a PM?

yes, but that is why i said
‘‘now im just posting random crap to :P’’

Sorry, I was viewing this thread and my bro posted this. So sorry… Won’t happen again :frowning:
