Is there a way that an autonomous mode could be triggered by just turning on the transmitter? We would like to start autonomous mode at a small competition remotely by just turning on the transmitter. We don’t want the students to handle the controls during autonomous mode. We would then like them to be able to gain manual control after the autonomous mode is over.
Yes, see “Vex Robotics Downloads - Vex Autonomous Mode using MPLAB” on our downloads page at http://www.vexlabs.com/vex-robotics-downloads.shtml. There are library files there which provide 2 different ways to run autonomously, a 30s period at start up (when the transmitter is turned on) or putting the Controller in and out of Autonomous Mode using a button on the transmitter. Instructions are included. Also, we will be adding new controls that put the robot in autonomous mode all the time.
