Stiff Potentiometer Issue

I am having an issue with one of my potentiometers that I recently opened from its case. It has not been used before and is stuck in its current position. I cannot spin it either way, and we have never seen this problem before in any potentiometer. I am unsure of whether I should contact VEX, RobotMesh because that is where I bought it, or there some way I can fix it myself. Thanks
