When I was in middle school we interchanged drivers for different matches at more than 1 competition. That was fun

I’ve heard somewhere o n the forum that if your bot is too large, you can use a belt sander and grind it down to the size limit

Stupidest thing I’ve done in Vex is leave the robot unattended.

“We’ve made some changes”
“WHERE IS THE ROBOT!?!?!”

You know guys, I think I have found the solution to this thread. The stupidest thing I’ve done in vex was start a DRow cult.
Ich habe ein groß Kult! Mean Kult ist zehr gut!

Not my robot but last year I saw someone at inspections and their robot had a bunch of pieces sticking out of the size limit so he ran back to his bay, came back with a hacksaw and sawed all that stuff off, filed it and got cleared in record time. I wonder what hes doing now…

My freshman team somehow managed to not only thread a brand new nylock on to a screw upside down, but they managed to do it on a screw that was completely rounded out.image

You have broken the fabric of reality. Please do not post any more of this sorcery.

whats funny is every time they start to work on their robot they always ask me which way the nylocks go on (we don’t do VEX in middle school so freshman year is usually their first time doing VEX)

Getting that screw on is just as likely as a clawbot getting three state qualifying awards on a tournament recently. Nobody really did skills, and they managed to win it. They won elimination matches because our team captain actually accepted the offer of a push bot for an alliance(it was a small tournament). Then when I tell them at least 20 times they need to play Defence to the death against our opponents Traybot they end up on the other side of the field doing god knows what and we lost. So they got skills and tournament champion which, of course, made them win excellence award. I was pissed at our alliance partner but we were laughing in the awards ceremony. To be four though their driver is pretty good.

Yikes, that’s a long staircase if I’m thinking about the right one.

Recently, our new teammate threaded a nylock onto a motor screw, and it actually stayed on. We didn’t notice until we were disassembling that part.

how? and how did it stay on?

Using sprockets as gears, on my first claw system.

Never found out how. Stayed on until we disassembled the part it was on
