Uhhhhh has Sunshine Showdown really been cancelled? If so, does anyone know why it’s been cancelled??

I want to put out here that events like large regional championships and signature events have an amazing amount of logistics. Venue, sound, lighting, food, transportation, pipe/drape, security, insurance, and so on. I once had a conversation with a wedding planner that did 200+ person events on a regular basis. At the end they agreed that robot events were much, much harder.
But we did agree that event vendors (from lighting to chairs to napkins to florists) are the worst. Need a linen napkin for a birthday party? $2 each. Oh it’s a wedding, they are now $6 each. So costs / budgets are an entirely different thing.
During the annual complain cycle about Worlds, I would love RECF to publish their master project plan gantt chart.

After looking at the adgenda for The Water Game, I noticed that there is too much waiting time. The tournment is spread out over 1 Week! There is a 5 Day Spread between alliance selection , and the finals matches. I love the idea but it would bee too expensive for 95% of teams.

I was really looking forward to it, I’m starting a team in the Dominican Republic, and Sunshine Showdown would’ve been the closest (and easiest to travel to and from) signature event.
