I installed EasyC5 out of curiosity to see what has changed between V4 and V5.
When the new application launches it shows a dialog box asking you to choose the controller, the choices are “VEX IQ” and “VEX Cortex”, I selected cortex and launched the application. So far so good, EasyC V5 for cortex looks and acts just like EasyC V4 so I decided to switch over to VEX IQ mode and have a look at that. Now I’m not exactly a beginner when it comes to using computers but could I figure out how to change controllers, poked around for 30 minutes looking for that menu item to change the controller, looked for a startup script, drew a blank.
So does anyone know what the official way is to change controllers? I’m sure there must be a simple way that I’m overlooking.
In the mean time for anyone in my situation, this is what I did.
delete the file (substitute you user name for “the user” )
C:\Users\theuser\AppData\Roaming\Intelitek\easyC V5\App.ini
AppData is usually hidden so make it visible first.
I was planning to write a short review, but I wasted all my time just figuring out how to launch in IQ mode, as you can tell I’m not particularly impressed. At last the trial is now 15 days rather than 7.
