Team 1437z Worlds Reveal

Here is our robot for Worlds 2012. It is a modified version of our Golden State Championship Robot (seen herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ertKM1E2ejE).
After Golden State we modified some ratios and worked on code and driving.

It is an NZ design with some unique features.
– 7:1 ratio on 6 bar lift, 393 motors (geared for torque)
– Drive through raised Chassis- we were the first team in SoCal to use this design feature, and it became pretty popular among SoCal teams (including the nationals-winning 404 ECR robots)
– 2 269 and 1 393 (torque) per side on 1:1.2 ratio for speed-- this ratio/motor combination strikes a pretty good balance of speed and pushing power, allowing it to win pushing matches often (even a few times against our 20 lb, 2:1 torque geared wallbot–reveal to come soon from 1437x)
– A plethora of sensors, including three touch sensors to select from different auton routines. So far we have 8 Different autonomous modes ( sry, not gonna tell you guys what they are  )
–The ability to score in the middle 30" from closed isolation zone (see the above video around 0:50). We are the only team I have seen or know of that can drive over objects with the hollow chassis and score in the center 30" with the gate down (if yours does this too, please show it off  )

Any thoughts, commentaries, and criticisms are welcome.

Looks like a very solid robot. I like it. You and your team did a nice job.

Very nice robot! Your robot is just the kind that we’re hoping to ally with.

We can do this as well:) but anyway nice robot, you guys are always an amazing to compete with/agaist.
Im looking forward to allying with you

Looking pretty clean guys. See you at worlds.

Having played against the robot in many regional competitions, and just recently in a scrimmage, i can attest to the robots strength. You should do great at worlds, and Team 404 wishes you the best of luck.

Ok if there is any team that has just been better than us, it team 1437z. Let me give a brief summary of the match ups between 1138B and 1437Z this season.

Granada Hills Tournament: Semifinals 2-1/2 = 1437x defeats 1138B and moves on to lose to team 1437z.

LA Championship: Basically winning each of our divisions team 1138B was on one side and 1437Z on the other side. Whole Tournament Finals 1/2= 1437z defeats 1138B in two matches. :expressionless:

Golden State Championship: 1138B makes it to the finals of the Math division, and yet again on the other side… team 1437Z. First round 1138B defeats the amazing wallbot (1437x worlds bot) and 1437Z, with the help of 687K. Second round 1138B loses by 1 point (corner goal). And third round doubler and negator get taken away without notice (long story short we got outsmarted).

So lets put it this way, i mean disregarding some of the new things 404 is adding to their new robots, i would say 1437Z is the best team in southern California. At the three tournaments they went to with this robot, they were 1st seed and won all three insanely competitive tournaments… SO WATCH OUT 4 THEM AT WORLDS… (maybe a little too long of a post…)
