Team 817's robot Version 1 (with original intake)

We built this robot over the summer before we got a better idea and started version two in September. The intake consists of elastic strung through medium sized high strength gears. The robot had 9 motors, six motor drive and could hold ten tubes.

The concept of an intake with elastic instead of intake rollers seems like a promising path for teams to explore, and I would like to hear what others think of the idea. We tried both on our robot and found that the latex rollers worked much better (at least for our application).

Fortunately version two has been quite successful winning all three tournaments that we have entered so far and winning the robot skills challenge in each as well. I will get a link to an updated video soon.

This was version 2 in December (But it has already been written about in a different thread.)

Our robot is the one with the claw and the needle, but many improvements have been made since then.
