Nice job!

I appreciate working through with that hood roller concept, it holds a lot of theoretical benefits but few people have taken the time to refine it. Were you pressed for space at all for that bot or do you still have room for various other gimmicks?

Some pretty awesome bots. Why the dual rollers for spitting the balls out instead of the flywheel design?

the traybot looks very good, the top down roller coupled with the base side rollers will probably be meta. I like the intakes that can descore from the center tower too.

Wouldn’t a fly wheel make it extremely difficulty to score the middle goal?

not if you just slow it down for that goal

I don’t see why.

Basically. A flywheel can also have a steeper arc if tuned correctly which would be better for the center goal.

How many energy drinks went into this robot?

So just tune the speed to adjust the arc where it can efficiently score the middle goal?

Exactly. That’s what I’d do. The dual rollers for the top work, but I think they have more limitations than what a flywheel would have.

We definitely have room for more gimmicks that robot is for VEX U so it’s 242424.

The ball we had at the time to test was a hollow print so we didn’t think it would survive testing with a flywheel. Bit we definitely considered that design.

Rookie Numbers, That number wouldve doubled if I couldve made it.

This bot is probably going to get a bigger redesign than the 15 as we have so much more room to play with. As we are all new to vexu, we want to have some fun with things like 3d prints along with possibly using some of our extra room for defense related tasks. One of my first thoughts when they started sending me videos(I couldnt make it because of work) was why the dual rollers. Another constraint they were working under is they only had parts from 3131v and 4100a’s bots from last season.

One of the benefits of using the 24inch robot for this design is that we can practically just roll the ball over the edge of the goal. I believe the goal is 18.5 inches and the balls are 6.5 so we only really need the top of the hood to pop up an inch or two and the ball can just roll in over the flywheel without it actually launching the ball.

Fair point.

That makes sense. Some really good bots though, I was just curious about the reasoning.
Whats your VEXU tag gonna be?

Im on SNDIT with the guys and gal who made this bot, just couldnt make it to the ri3d due to my schedule.

Nice, I’ll keep an eye out for that number. Y’all have some good numbers behind y’all. Who knows maybe we’ll compete against each other at worlds.
They’re some good bots.
