This year a few of our teams are looking into a couple different t-shirts for at worlds and we were not sure if they could use vex parts on the shirts. I know there are specific rules regarding how the logos can be used, but I haven’t found anything specifically dealing with parts. Specifically, they planned on utilizing silhouettes of the IQ and VRC license plates. They wanted to arrange them on the back of a shirt with their team numbers and names inside of them. If you have an answer to this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Which specific rules you have read?
VEX robotics has brand guidelines with regards to using their logos, if you follow the guidelines you can include them on team shirts - for example, VRC Tipping Point logo could be a nice element to include.
To be sure, you can’t market products using VEX logos.
So back to original, where did you read these “rules”?
I was referring to the brand guidelines, when I mentioned the “rules” for using their logos. They cover logos and how certain terminology should be used, but don’t mention the use of parts.
Welcome to the forum. You are looking in the right place (branding guide) for any use of the vex logos and text. Many teams use depictions of vex parts within their shirt or other graphics. Part of the graphics assets you can download from vex and use in your marketing are background textures that include illustrations of vex parts. You should be fine.
Thank-you for the help!
