My greatest struggle with larger teams is making sure everyone is doing something.
Like we had a team of 5 last season and I can’t just let them all build the robot, however, they all wanted to. So they refuse to do other jobs like sponsors and engineering diary, which cripples our team.
Then there’s skill level, you don’t want all the inexperienced people on one important job while you watch. I had to build the entire competition robot for worlds in 2 weeks because nobody else had the capacity nor the spare time to do so.
So if you split off you have to keep that in mind when moving people around so that everyone has something to do, and they aren’t let alone to their own devices.
We were thing about having 3 team but we have new members join every year so we keep getting big so I need everyone to be doing something.
