Shouldn’t take 6 competitions in that case. But in your scenario, there would be several State bids left open due to duplicate qualifications. So that would open State qualification up to teams that couldn’t qualify by winning Excellence, Design, or being Tournament Champion at any event, but had some reasonable skills scores.

It really does seem like we have a variation of #8 at each competition. Picking a team that has already been picked. Picking a team that was a higher rank than them. Picking a team that does not exist…

@Mira The freshman team at my school came to me looking for help and that’s essentially what I told them to do.
Team with 4+ people and only one of them goes to competitions
The middle school team that has one amazing bot every year but their other bots are mediocre at best
That team that does pretty bad at ever tournament but gets to state based on skills. (Us last year and the year before)
The team with a ton of members that only has a clawbot.
Always. BUT WHY??
You all have to start somewhere 
And the team that somehow manages to make a robot worse than a clawbot (believe me I’ve seen it)
That team that says stuff like “You should have just bought all aluminum/pneumatics/power expander/etc.” as if money just grows on trees and we were stupid to not think to do that.
