The heck is up with the forum?

The site is being real glitchy rn, and I’m not the only one it’s happening to. Does anyone know what’s up?

I thought it was updated at first, but something in my gut tells me something else is off. Here is what happened to my screen.

I’m pretty sure it’s a VEX Forum issue not a Discourse issue for a few reasons:

  1. I just checked a couple other forums and they’re not acting up
  2. If there was a discourse bug I think I’d’ve heard about it pretty much instantly lul

I wonder what DRow was trying to do that caused it

On further inspection, it appears that the forum is running a newer version of discourse than it was just a little bit ago, I think the cause of the bug is seperate.

when scrolling down, the header for the forum is just kind of delayed

It appears DRow made some… improvements.

On April 20th VEX Forum was using Discourse 2.5.0.beta4, and now it’s using 2.7.0.beta7. Potentially something broke while updating it, but I do think it’s a specific CSS issue with VEX Forum, not the Discourse update itself, or else https://meta.discourse.org/ would be full to the brim with posts about it right now.

I like this new feature. Convenient buttons at the center of the screen

It didn’t even let me into the site for a couple minutes.

This never has happened to me till I went on this topic. Now it is happening a lot.

Another bug:

Looks like there were some changes that made our custom header incompatible. We’ll get it fixed today.

yea, the header is spacing out. and when I go into look at DM’s that dropdown box spasms and vanishes. It is cool to see at times what broken code can create, sometimes it is funny like the header obscuring most of what taran says

Then do we really need to fix it?

The inspect feature finally has a use…

Dev tools have many many uses, I have found myself with them open almost constantly these past few months.

We just put out a fix for the header … you will probably need to do a full page refresh to make sure Discourse isn’t caching any of the markup or JavaScript on the front end.

Let us know if you still see any issues.

It works now, the header isn’t being weird. Thanks for the fix.

Profile summary still times out, even after deleting all cache:

Error code: 502 Bad Gateway

I too am getting this:
