I was not satisfied with the herky jerky driving of the four wheeled base designs. I think that crazy omni wheel is a weird solution to a simple problem. So I set out to build a caster system that would use only the components in my Vex IQ super kit… I came up with the “Tuk Tuk” named after the famous three wheeled taxis in Thailand. Tell me what you think. I have not tried to attach anything to the base yet. It drives and handles like a dream weather in forward or reverse! You can use the standard driver program with this design. Stability seems pretty good but since I have not mounted any kind of mech on top I am not sure how it would hold up.
