The VEX V5 Robot Rally Lab -- no programming required? How does that work?

I wasn’t sure what category to put this in, so here goes. I am a teacher trying to set up a robotics course and I noted that the activities – they seem good, by the way – one is a RObot Rally for the V5 system. Great! It has build instructions and the whole thing there. But it says “No programming required” and the whole lab setup – at least what I see on the site – doesn’t seem to reference what the robot actually does, presumably move and turn. Is there some download that comes with the V5 brain? Are the instructions to do that hard coded in? What gives?

(By the way the links to “teacher resources” say what they are, but there is no link to an actual resource to be found that would shed light on a lot of this stuff).

Anyhow if anyone can offer some insight that would be great and most appreciated.

I’ll assume you are using this:

On the V5 Brain, there is a “Drive” button that directly allows the user to move the robot with the controller in Tank Drive after connecting the controller.

The finished robot individually moves the two traction wheels (the ones on the left-side of the robot in the first few images in the PDF) to allow the robot to move and turn.

If you want to install code on the robot, you can do so with apps such as VexCode (codev5.vex.com).

Thanks I wasn’t sure and wanted to check. (I haven’t got a V5 set yet)
