A limited amount of custom plastic is allowed. Robots may use non-shattering plastic from the following list; polycarbonate (Lexan), acetal monopolymer (Delrin), acetal copolymer (Acetron GP), POM (acetal), ABS, PEEK, PET, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon (all grades), Polypropylene, FEP; as cut from a single 12” x 24” sheet up to 0.070” thick.

Also, just to be clear - “plexiglass” is a popular brand name for acrylic (aka PMMA). Acrylic can shatter and is not on the list of legal plastics in VRC, as you can see above.

What you probably want instead is polycarbonate, the most common brand names are “Lexan” and “Makrolon”. Trade names for acrylic and polycarbonate are often used interchangeably, but there’s an important difference between the two plastics. Polycarb is safe and legal for use on VRC robots whereas acrylic is not.
