It was my first time to setup Smart field controller in club. I use an extra monitor as Field Queue Display and monitor direct connect with the TM. But the question is the TM can’t identify the monitor, so the Field Queue Display can’t work well. I want the Field Queue Display fullscreen on the extra monitor. Please give some solutions.
My laptop system is windows10.
The order of operations is important here.
The TM Display program only scans for monitors on startup. It does not automatically detect changes to your monitor outputs.
If you connect another monitor or switch to “Extend this display” after starting the display program, it will never see the extra monitor.
If this is the problem, closing and re-opening the display program should allow the monitor to be detected.
My understanding is that I have to close the Tournament Manager and Display Program. Then I reconnect the monitor to the laptop and switch to”Extend the monitor” and open the TM again so that TM can scan the monitor. Last, I open the Display program (Field Queue) and I can choose fullscreen on the monitor.
Is it right?
You only need to close and open the Display program (in this case, Field Queue). The Display program scans for the monitor.
TM itself can remain open.
It may be you did these exact things and still have an issue, but let me spell out the sequence for clarity.
- Power your laptop with the external monitor connected and set up dual display as desired (sounds like you want extend display).
- Power smart control brain and connect to the laptop via usb, listening for the connection tone.
- Launch the field control program on the brain.
- Launch TM and wait for a field control window to open, allowing you to test the controller and assign it to a field. This is the only way to get this window - at TM startup.
- Start a field queue display in TM and assign which field set it is for.
- Use the view tab shown in your first image to set the display to full screen on the external monitor.
The critical issue is that dual display needs to be active when TM is launched for TM displays to detect external monitors (at least that has been my experience.) Also, the controller must be connected and running FC program in order for TM to see it, and TM only checks for field control at startup.
