Top 30 Skills Cutoffs Estimates

Programming isn’t gonna change much give or take around 5 points

Why?

My guess during last week’s VEXCast was 340 for robot and 320 for programming. I will probably give some more updated estimates during tonights VEXCast (7 pm Est)

345 robot
316 programming
was my guess during the VEXCast

As last bits of scores are finalized lets see how close my guess ends up.

I believe that the rankings are now finalized as both 3946A and 3946W have received their invites from qualifying through skills this afternoon. Robot events has:
341 robot
315 programming

So almost dead on!

Wait…
Did the skills cutoff already happen?

Yes, skills cutoff is on March 7th, so skills qualifications ended yesterday.

I’m confused.
There are still many worlds qualifying events yet to happen.
BC provincials is this Saturday along with a few state competitions.

Hello everyone, I am a new user of VEXFORUM, and I am really new to VEX and this platform.

I’ve just heard about the qualifications and stuff, so I am really interested to see who would get into the top30. I hope someone can tell me when will the official skills score be confirmed, because I thought there would be a deadline by now :frowning:

Yes, some world qualifying competitions happen after the skills cutoff. On robot events, March 7th is listed as the cutoff date.

Yes, official scores to qualify for worlds are finalized. You can see them here: https://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/vex-robotics-competition/robot-skills

I think that the early date gives an unfair advantage to regions with earlier regionals.
Now even if any teams score a world record at their qualifying competition and don’t qualify any other way, they wouldn’t get any invite, while a team who scores 100 fewer points a week earlier does get an invite through skills.

@mwang17

thank you very much for your reply
However, my only concern here is that I’ve heard about robot events “lagging” on forum updates, and I’m just curious are these scores already finalised and will there be any scores being uploaded anymore ?

I’m pretty excited to see the new scores (if any).

At the same time, though, robots in regions with qualifying competitions later may already know that they are going to worlds and reduce the uncertainties with a competition.

Official invitations to worlds have already been emailed. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but new skills scores will continue to be uploaded, but these teams will not receive and invitation.
