Tournament Packing Check Lists

Every team is different, and needs are different - but getting ready for Worlds I want to just share out our packing list for an average tournament. Is anyone else willing to share you list/system for making sure you have what you need for a tournament?

Advice about what you do different for worlds?

(Context: I’m the coach for a middle school team - this list is supplies for 2 robots going to a “normal” tournament)

Edit to add: This has been a slap dash list thrown together over time, and every time I find something else to add. Just packed up for worlds and added a few more things.

This list is organized by box/parts of boxes.

That is a great list! One of the biggest things that I would do for worlds is plan for the worst. You don’t know what parts you will need, something will break, I almost guarantee it, especially if you are flying.

What we do is pack two of every “weird” part on the robot-gears, long standoffs, wheels, full length c-channel, radio if you have another one, pistons, the three wire controller cables for the pneumatics, lexan, motor inserts, etc.

We also pack a couple parts that are put together if we know they are probably going to break like a arm or clamp.

One thing that I would recommend is a short piece of cord to attach to your robot box to drag it around, you will thank me later.

When you are at worlds make sure that you have a driver, wrench, zipties, rubber bands, the important things, in your pocket or bag because you won’t have time to run back to your pit if something small breaks…

We actually have some carts we’ll be brigning that disassemble - but I guess that’s only realy feasible because we can drive.
