Hiya, my school is very new to VEX Robotics and I was curious to know if you had any good strategies for beginners, we only have a traybot but anything would help!
Thank you!

if you can only stack a limited amount of cubes, towers are everything. Depending on your partner, go for stacks of similar colors and then try to control the towers.
Tower Takeover is the VRC game. This is an IQ Forum and their game is Squared Away
Honestly just look at what your robot can do and see how that could work well with the starting cube placement. It’s like how traybots will run down the line of 4 cubes because it’s easy for their robot to pick up.
autonomous is very important if you can’t score very high during driver control. try to intake that line of cubes @enothecool mentioned and stack it in the unprotected zone. also if you’re partner can 1v1 your opponents worse team, then play defense on your opponents best robot and completely stop them from scoring (this is actually not that hard, just shove them all over the place, but make sure to shove them away from perimeters so you don’t pin them.)
Just because ur a beginner doesn’t mean you should constrain yourself to beginner strategies. There are many high level strategies that can be implemented at any caliber of play
We’re beginners too! We’ve only been working since the end of last school year.
Tower Takeover is a pretty simple game.
It’s only confusing when you REFUSE to read the game manual. I recommend really in depth reviewing the autonomous period and line. It will really help you. Here’s the link to the manual .pdf:
It’s a simple game in concept but the main point of the game is having good strategy. I feel like this year, even though some robots may be really good, it’s gonna be the meta game that decides who wins
solid stacks is the absolute best solid color stacks in towers will rack up points and win
if u have a traybot which u do do the rainbow strat in the begining pick up 2 of each once they (the other team)make their move on the towers u then also use that color
this may change depending on who u r teamed with but
IMO some teams may spend too much time trying to find the correct cube color. Nothing matters in the end if you have abt the same number of each color in ur zone at the end of the match.
Edit: grammar
