Just use custom cut plates and make a pivot point (cannot send pics right now)
What about fraction?
there are plenty of alternative joints. ones using plates is pretty common. basically just mount the plates like you would a 45 degree gusset, and pick a hole to put the joint on. the wider the joint, the more stages you can fit inside the first and second, but the less compact it is.
