Tray lexan alternatives

Alright so this is going to be a very stupid question from yours truly, but here goes.

What are some alternatives to lexan for trays? I have seen Zipties being used and such but I am, as previously mentioned, pretty dumb. Does anyone have any advice to how to attach Zipties? (pls don’t finish me)
Or do y’all have any other suggestions of other materials we could use?

The flags from turning point are legal. Rubber bands would also work.

But don’t Rubber bands carry friction though? And we can’t currently use the flags as we’ve repurposed them for a fundraising game.

Zip ties are cheap and easy.

How do you attach them though? I’m having trouble with that. (I apologize for my stupidity)

Do you use c channel or L channel for your tray?

We use L currently but might switch to C channels to better accommodate a telescoping tray

It’s not really a stupid question, you cut the head of one ziptie off and stick a zip-tie through the corner holes, and on the other end of the zip-tie you attach the zip-tie head.
