Tri Ball Launching- Match Load Placment

Two questions I have here

  1. What happens to teams who drop match loads onto field by accident.

  2. What happens to teams who launch triballs out of the field dimensions.

  3. What happens to triballs that end up on top of the goal net.

Welcome to the forum!

(2) and (3) are both addressed by rule SG3.

(1) would be a violation of rule SG6. Accidentally dropping a single ball while match-loading would likely by considered a minor violation and a warning. Repeated, egregious, or match-affecting violations could escalate to a major violation and therefore a disqualification from the match (see the definition of “Violation” and associated flowchart for more info on major vs. minor).

Welcome to the VEX Forum. You’ve asked some questions that tell the rest of us that you’re not familiar with the rules of the game. Take a look here at the game manual: VRC Over Under Game Manual - VEX Robotics You can easily search using “control F” and if you have some specific questions after reading the manual, please feel free to post again.

The REC Q&A is always the best place to look for rule confirmations as any statement they make there about how to interpret a rule has to be followed by referees at all REC-registered competitions.
Also, it’s the first place a referee will check for a rule confirmation.

Hope this help

Yes illegally loading one tri-ball is a minor violation, any minor violation can become a major violation and a DQ if its match affecting. Here’s a QA that addresses illegal match loads. Illegal Matchloading DQ Threshold : Robot Events
