Hello,
I am having trouble connecting my Vex IQ Brain and Controller to https://codeiq.vex.com/.
I have a dongle going from USB C to the mini-USB to the controller/brain, and in Chrome when I attempt to pair I get the attached view, no devices being pulled up.
Thanks for your help in advance.
I tend not to use the browser-based version of VEXCode unless I have no other choice, so I don’t have specifics, but to help validate that the cable/hardware are all working right there are a couple of things I would suggest:
First, if you can, install the downloaded version of VEXCode IQ, and see if the brain is recognized there. If not, odds are pretty good that there’s a problem somewhere (maybe a power-only USB cable, bad dongle, bad port).
Another thing you might check is the macOS System Information utility. If you click on the Apple Menu and hold down the option key, the top item will become “System Information”. From the listing on the left you can select USB and that will show all the USB devices recognized by the OS. I don’t have a brain handy to say exactly what they would show up like there, but it tends to be pretty obvious.
If you’ve verified that the hardware is working, the issue is likely down to security settings, either in Chrome itself, or in macOS, and hopefully someone who uses the browser version of VEXcode on the Mac can chime in here.
