Trying to find a good ramp extender using pneumatics

Hey y’all I’m trying to find the best way to make a ramp extender for my robot using pneumatics. I tried a hinge but the pneumatic needed a hinge part for it I guess to make it function. If anyone could maybe give me a part name for a pneumatic hinge that’d be great. If anyone can help in general I am using a similar robot design made by little will. I might do some changes to it. Thanks y’all! God bless Yall for push back and good luck!

If you want to do this with pneumatics and you already have a hinge, you don’t need one for the pneumatic piston. The ramp extender on the back I’m guessing will have the hinge. Therefore you can just mount the piston on a screw on one of the holes on the 5 wide part of the ramp. Or you can bring supports down for it. Hope this helps!

So I’m trying to do what little will did with his but it’s not checking out. I think what ur saying is have the piston on the back of the ramp and have the piston not connected to the ramp extender part and have the piston just push forward so it keeps the ramp extender engaged. This helps a lot thanks! I was so confused going over the video over and over again😂. Thanks again! Good luck!

Im not sure if my answer would really help you, but if you are using the new v5 pneumatics kit, you can use shaft collars to connect the end of the piston to. Basically in more detail. you would want to srew in the end of the piston that extends and retracts into the srewthread of the shaft collar. this way you are able to have a perpendicular mounting position to any rotational movement that you want to occur.

does this help? please clarify if not.

This kinda makes sense if you would ellaborate more. I’m newer to vex so I kinda know what you are saying. Thanks

let me know if you need further instruction.
