Turn Protobot Designs into SKETCHES

Fusion 360 is an Excellent software for VEX CADing and includes many Features that other CADing software lack—such as the ability to convert your designs into sketches or blueprints.

Personally, I prefer using Protobot Rebuilt for CADing designs. It’s specifically designed for VEX and makes building robots simple and easy. Unfortunately, Protobot doesn’t have the sketch feature, so I developed a workaround:

  1. Open your Protobot Project you intend to make into a sketch
  2. Toggle on Orthographic View
  3. Take Screenshots from every angle you want to be sketched
  4. Open your browser of choice
  5. Navigate to this Website (this is an Online Sketch Maker)
  6. Sign in (for free) to use the Sketch Maker (ik this is an annoying step sorry)
  7. Upload your images one at a time and download the JPEG for each

(the following is optional but will make the Sketch Look nicer)

  1. Navigate to this Website (this is an Online Photo Editor)

  2. Upload your images one at a time and use these settings for each:

  3. Select Apply and Export each of your images as a JPEG.

Here is the final product:

(note: this was done a very simple CAD, but I have tested with more Advanced Models)

Or you can just select the wireframe rendering style

And maybe disable the layout grid.

@u89djt how do you activate the wireframe setting?

That’s the wireframe rendering style in Fusion 360 - you can see the menu sequence in my first image.
I just had a look at protobot - it doesn’t seem to export any standard object formats. That would mean you can’t share/edit/visualize except with protobot.
