UK VEX U Worlds Qualifying

Last year VEX U teams (except maybe from Mexico) could register as soon as registration opened without having to qualify, due to lack of events in most of the world. I have not heard that it will be any different this year.

TOSS BOSSES. you need to talk to Paul McKnight, he deals with all the vex stuff, and i know he deals with the VEX U Stuff like this after talking with him about this in the past,

until there are enough VEX U teams in the UK there will not be any sort of qualification process, i think there are 3 maybe 4 at this time, it is expanding as people progress from high school to the university stage of education, i am going to try and setup a team at my uni when i start in a couple of weeks !

Leon, Just to let you know that your website isn’t working…

Not working for me either, on Chrome or Explorer.

EDIT: it is working on mobile however, weird

EDIT to my EDIT: It’s working on 4G on my phone but when I try to connect to it on WiFi it won’t connect.

On Chrome, Explorer, and mobile when on WiFi I get the standard “This web page is not available” message you get when you go to a site that doesn’t exist (i.e http://fsjdsigdsgdoigjdoidgg.com/). However, on mobile when I’m using 4G I get the site correctly. I doubt it’s an issue with browser settings considering it works on 4G on mobile but not WiFi.

EDIT: Oh, I see what you mean, eu.pn successfully redirects to freehostingeu.com and is working fine.

Unless the rules have changed for VEX U, there isn’t a qualification process. In the past there weren’t a lot of VEX U teams so once you registered, you could register for worlds without having to attend and event. It was the same last year. My VEX U team went to 2 events, didn’t win either one, and still went to worlds. Our worlds registration was completed before we attended either event. VEX U has been growing since it first started but to my knowledge, they haven’t changed the qualification process.

So basically, once you register, you can register for worlds.

@TOSS_BOSSES,

yes i would keep my old team name, i have the same concerns, i hope i can find some people willing to work with me,

what uni you going to ? … i’m going to plymouth to study electrical engineering w/robotics

WOW ! Good look at OXFORD :open_mouth:

no, i think the name would not be appropriate !

never know, might see each other at VEX U competition next year ?

Do you have local high school competitions?
Last year, our team attended the competitions strictly for skills with College skills rules

by doing that, we can have our official scores submitted by the official event organizer

Talk to them and see if you are able to do the same
