Ultrasonic Range Finder/Sonar Spread

Hi all,

So I was looking on the vex website to check how much the spread of the vex ultrasonic range finder is. From what I see, its about 22.5 degrees, but the website doesn’t specify if that spread is horizontal, vertical, or both. I would assume its horizontal for sure but I don’t know if it is vertical spread as well. Can someone please tell me if the spread is in the vertical direction as well?

Ritam,

The -6dB sensitivity of the Transmitter and of the Receiver used in the 276-2155 VEX Ultrasonic Range Finder is 60°±15°. Sensitivity quickly falls off 30° from the center axis.
