Would the following rubber bands be considered legal given that they are the same size offered by VEX:

I don’t think these are anything special. All rubber bands are legal. I personally use the alliance 1/8" wide and 7" long. I can wrap them about three times around when using them on a lift. Of course that may not be what you will use them for…

as long as they aren’t ridiculous, they should be fine. one team tried to use a rubber band that was 2" wide and 18" long, and they obviously got told no, but if they are similar to vex, you should be fine.

Well I mean, yeah… The memes that could come from this though…

Not only do they have to be similar to the VEX bands, they must be identical in all ways except for color. That is to say, only #32 and #64 rubber bands are legal.

I have found no problems with using any rubber bands I think they would allow all of them. Just like you can use any M6 or M8 screw.

This is my understanding. I’ve never tried to push it, though. I have bought some really nice Alliance ones off Amazon that were basically identical to the ones Vex sells (except I got red and blue :-)).

Are they the 7" long ones? I like those the best.

No they need to be identical. The rubber bands Vex sells come in two varieties: #32, 3" X 1/8" and #64, 3.5" X 1/4". The rubber bands you purchase must be identical to that except for color.
