My opinion is all IQ based, not VRC, but wanted to give more context to my votes.
Where do you think Worlds 2026 will be
Other (Comment)
Indianapolis, IN. Indiana hosts/hosted some of the largest sporting events:
- Indy 500
- NCAA Final Four
- Super Bowl XLVI
- NFL Combine
We already host the largest State competition. Lucas Oil and the Convention Center could both be utilized since they’re connected.
Which Worlds schedule do you prefer?
3-days per event (Currently being used in Dallas)
With how large massive Worlds is, 3-days minimum is needed for the students to enjoy the experience without feeling burnt out at the end of each day trying to do EVERYTHING
Should Skills Finals & New Product Reveal ceremony come back?
Yes
Is Skills Finals a VRC thing?
Number of matches teams should play?
12 Matches per team
12 matches should be minimum for Worlds. Most is better when it comes to how matches drop but doing 14+ seems ridiculous, and 10 is not enough IMO.
How should Drivers Meeting be held?
Online
100%. Too much chaos trying to get 400+ teams to attend a Driver’s Meeting in their respective Divisions (esp if you have multiple teams that are in different Divs).
Should fields be in team pits?
VIQRC fields only
Practice fields are limited, and not easily accessible to all teams (some closer, some further away). Pits should be large enough to fit a field and a table with chairs. This year’s game makes the “playing area” larger because it has to accommodate two loaders. Having 2+ teams is beneficial because one can be the practice field pit and the other pit can be shared by team members.
Should Team Travel Source be an option?
TTS should be optional
TTS is a good option to help teams find hotels but it shouldn’t be required. Indiana being the last to qualify, sometimes finding rooms that we can afford is a pain. Teams should be able to find their own hotels/AirBnB that can fit their budget without being forced through TTS.
How much is your team willing to spend on your Vex Worlds Trip? (Travel & hotel included) (In USD)
<$10k
Question seems odd to me. “Willing” to spend? We’re willing to spend whatever it costs, as long as we have the funds to do so. Thankfully, we’ve never been in a situation where we couldn’t attend Worlds due to funds. No team should be spending $10k (per team) to participate one event. We’ve taken 4 teams before, and it can easily blast past that $10k price by the time you add in food/Ubers.
Would you want WI-FI in the venue, even if you pay for it?
I’ll pay for the WI-FI
Not having Wi-Fi is annoying but also having dozens of extra devices on Wi-Fi can interfere with critical networking gear used for the event (there’s ways around that though). Almost every cell provider offers mobile hotspot on their plans. It’s harder for International teams because they most likely are using a travel eSIM that doesn’t support that but you can definitely find someone (like an alliance) that would allow you to use their hotspot for something quick. If you cannot find someone, or don’t feel comfortable, having a paid option (hour pass or day pass) would be the second best option.
How would your team use a Fast Pass?
For Skills / For skipping the line at Vex Store
I don’t recall our team ever having or using a Fast Pass but for the students, having a Fast Pass for skills would be beneficial if their time management slips a little but also having it for the VEX Store (if I can use it to buy next years game) would be clutch too.
Is Kay Baily Hutchison Convention Center a good venue for Vex Worlds?
Yes
I’ve enjoyed attending Worlds in Dallas but its time for a change of scenery.
