Unofficial: Parking Clarification (with bonus supporting object questions)

This is my response to @Eruditrix 's line of questioning.

To extend that point, a robot that is supported by a cone or a mogo that is fully on the parking tile, but is not directly touching the parking tile, would not count as parked, correct?

The “supported” rule only counts toward Scoring mogos, which is technically different than Parking. That robot would not count as parked.

I know that a mogo supported by a cone in the 20pt zone and the 10pt bar is counted as a 10 point mogo. And by that extension, I assume that a mogo outside the scoring zone, but also partially supported by a mogo in the 5 pt zone would not be scored in a zone at all. Is that correct?

This is where I am going to pull out the definition of “Scored”. From the manual,

Scored – A Mobile Goal is Scored in a Goal Zone if it meets all of the following criteria:

1. The Mobile Goal is touching the Goal Zone
   a. If a Mobile Goal is touching multiple Goal Zones it is Scored in the higher point value
   Goal Zone
2. The Mobile Goal is not touching a Robot of the same color Alliance.
3. The Mobile Goal and the Goal Zone belong to the same Alliance.

Note 1: Only one Mobile Goal can be Scored in each 20 Point Zone.
Note 2: If multiple Mobile Goals are in a scored position in a 20 Point Zone, the Mobile Goal with the most Cones Stacked will be the one that is Scored.
Note 3: If a Mobile Goal is not touching a Zone, but is entirely Supported by other Scoring Objects it counts as being Scored in the highest value Scoring Zone of the Supporting Scoring Objects

Note three has been bolded. Notice “entirely Supported”. If it is touching the mat outside of the 5 point zone, it isn’t entirely supported on other objects, so it does not count as Scored.

How about a mogo tipped over the starting bar with a cone on it - so that the point/cone end is in the 10pt zone?

Pretty much, if the mogo is tipped, the cone won’t count. If the mobile goal is touching the tiles in the 10 point zone, it’s worth 10 points. Else, it’s worth 5.
