Updating Autodesk Inventor

Hi everyone,
I currently have Autodesk Inventor 2015 on my pc and want to upgrade it to 2017 or 2018 without uninstalling 2015 from my pc and then installing 2018. How would I go about doing this? I know that I should have put this in the Autodesk Forum, but I feel like I would get better responses here.

Thanks

Why don’t you want to uninstall and reinstall?
I believe they are considered separate products and are able to be installed alongside each other. I don’t think there is a way to “update”

You can uninstall and then just re-link your libraries and projects to the new version.

Yeah I don’t believe there is a way to update from one version to the other :frowning:
As for keeping the folder libraries: it uninstalls them when you uninstall autodesk through the application, doesn’t it?

I keep mine in dropbox and have never lost them. Just had to redirect to them.

aahhh, ok

I wouldn’t think so, and even if it does, it would be easy enough to get around it by moving your parts library around

All right thanks everyone. I was just being lazy and wanted to avoid having to more than needed, but if I have to uninstall and reinstall, I’ll do that. After reinstalling Inventor 18, I just need to update the migrate the flies to the current version, correct?
Thanks once again.
