US Open Autonomous

The finals for the US Open were posted in youtube yesterday. I’m very curious about the autonomous mode. It doesn’t seem that the teams concentrated on maximizing their scores during autonomous. Of course, there were some collisions that prevented the some robots from lining up. But other robots that didn’t seemingly have collisions, didn’t score very many balls either.

So… was this intentional? Is there some new autonomous strategy that was used at the US Open…?

A lot of teams just missed their balls in autonomous. For example, 400x had a 45-50 point autonomous, but most of the time, they missed all of their balls. There were a few teams that use the autonomous period to “hoard” and bring a bunch of balls into their starting tile.

Can you post the link? I had to leave early, and missed the last 2 HS finals.

Are the finals for middle school on you tube anywhere?
