Use of a jig to setup robot during matches, driver skills, and programming

Hi, there:
My team uses a jig (made out of Vex IQ parts) to set the robot’s base about 4 inches away from the wall so that the entire robot (especially the bulky upper structure) can be inside the legal starting position. Our robot is designed to the maximum size limit (20X13) horizontally. So the jig will help team to setup the robot properly inside the legal boundary of the starting position. After the setup, the jig is removed. Our team will proceed with matches, driver skills or programming runs. Is the use of such jig device allowed in matches, driver skill or programming runs? I have seen other teams used such jigs in tournaments. We would like to have some clarifications before we commit to such strategy.
Thanks!

Yes, this is legal, provided you use the jig in a timely fashion. Referees expect teams to arrive at the field and be ready to start the Match promptly. So as long as your jig isn’t causing delays, it would be legal.
