I want to use shaft encoders to help with my flywheel speed. Currently i can shoot in the high goal from two feet out side the field. Will the encoders help with this? My ratio is a 49:3 using a horizontal dual flywheel. 2 motors on each wheel
Yes, you just may have to have the red shaft encoders on a shaft closer to the motor versus the end shaft attached to the flywheel. At a certain speed the red quad encoder does not keep up as well.
One of our teams - 91C - is doing this quite well versus using the IME encoder which is popular among other teams in our club.
