hey guys, solidworks 2020 edition has a spec that provides elastic materials. like a rubber band or sth like that. do you think is it useful? is there someone has experience with it? it would be super useful since games requires tons of rubber bands.
there’s not much use imo having realistic rubber bands in cad. you can just have static bands in your model. for something like a lift, it’s better just to experiment with the banding on the actual robot than it is to try and come up with some theoretically perfect banding using elastic physics simulations.
But it does sound as though it could be a really interesting thing to experiment with and some great discussion points for your notebook, especially if you can compare simulations with your real robot.
