Utah, BATC Competition Videos

I thought I’d share the elimination rounds of the first Skyrise competition held in Utah. None of the teams from my school were ready, so I went just to see where everybody else was at. The link leads to playlist of all elimination matches.

Thoughts, questions, comments?

What’s the ruling on video “Finals 2” at 0:57? Should he have moved or is that legit?

I think that they (the referees) ignored it in the end because it wasn’t match-affecting. Red won.

Also, I think the argument could be made that he was just protecting himself from a falling robot. He didn’t really do anything actively or purposely to touch, reposition, or make contact with the robot.

Haha, I didn’t even notice that happened at :57 until you pointed it out.

Overall it was a fun early season competition, and some teams are well on their way to having a strong season.

<G7> …exceptions of contact rule are made when protecting them selves from falling robots, minor violations that do not affect the match that will result in a warning.

Thanks. These are nice videos. Still kind of disappointed that there isn’t one single scissor lift…

I like the tread hook cycle robot. We might improve our design to something similar to that.

Thanks.

I believe that there was one scissor lift in eliminations. In the matches labeled “Semifinals B-1” and “B-3,” the team 4184E has one. It too uses a “tread hook cycle.”
