How do the smart v4 motors work? I’ve never used one before. Also, are there any precautions that I should take to keep my cortex safe? I read somewhere that it generates a lot of static.
Are you referring to the integrated motor encoder add ons to the 393 motors?

Personally I wouldn’t use it when you can avoid it it is way too inconsistent
So then what should I use instead for a PID loop?
Just the normal optical shaft encoders.
