Hello,
I have a question for those of you that have your V5 hardware.
Do you know if the V5 motors are compatible with the Vex turntables?
Part Number: 276-1810

Yes, but we used some black spacers to make it work. The screw posts on the motors don’t fit inside the turntable
@OscarMNOVA12 Thanks!
Thanks for the reminder, I’ve been meaning to upload this document to the webpage:
Is that technique for motor mounting actually VEX legal?
Woah I had no idea that this was a thing. Is it legal to do this in non-turntable situations? Does one have to use the included standoffs or can one use different standoffs? Can we use those standoffs for other purposes?
Why not?
It is an interesting solution.
Electrical rewiring is illegal, but the mounts are standoff sized… and apparently can be used in interesting ways
This breaks R16 about part modification. Part D refers to what is allowed to be modified about the V5 smart motors and that is just the gear cartridge.
Removing components from motors and putting them other places has never been allowed in the past.
Yup. But if this is now allowed, it may also solve the issue with V5 motors in some spots on c-channels and the like.
It would but I am not 100% sure how much I trust the strength of the plastic supporting the screw.
good Q&A question…
eew what a hack!
