We set our autonomous and driver control in the competition temolate. I hooked the competition switch to test and we still had to push play on the lcd screen on the brain to enable the autonomous. Once it started we could switch the driver control and the controller worked. Do you have to touch run in the screen for autonomous during competition? This V5 is very new to us and we hate to goof up in competition. It is tomorrow.
The procedure in competition is you come to field. Connect your V5 Controller to field tower. Turn on robot and V5 controller. On V5 Robot Brain select the program you wish to run for the competition (the one using the competition template with an autonomous and user control functions). Press run (play icon). The V5 Radio LED will turn green to indicate robot is ready to go to the referee. Your robot will run either autonomous or user control depending on what the tournament operator selects. Otherwise your robot waits until released by the field control (disabled).
