V5 Pot vs. EDR Pot

I currently have an EXP Brain with the old EDR Potentiometers. Are there any significant changes between the newer V5 Pot vs the old red ones?
I understand that the newer pots are continuous with 333 degree of angle readout whereas the old ones are about 260 degrees and non-continuous.
The biggest problem I had with the old ones was they’d sometimes give bad readings (a spike in value) in the middle of its range.
Are the V5 pots more resistant to bad readings and worth the upgrade?

Thank you

This details the differences

I’ve been upgrading them in our organization for the simple fact that it keeps the students from breaking the stops on old ones.
