V5 Serial numbers?

Newbie here, with a very pleasant problem!

My co-op just swung a grant to upgrade my PLTW Automation and Robotics course materials to the new V5 gear. I’ve just been handed 24 V5 System Bundles!

Thing is - they require me to enter everything into an inventory, and be accountable for it for five years. I’m putting together a spreadsheet, numbering each item (Brain 1, 2, 3, and so on), but I can’t find a serial number for the controllers, radios, or batteries. I did find the unique ID number for each brain, and it’s pretty clear that the motors don’t have serial numbers, but I would expect to see those on the controllers, batteries, and radios.

Do those actually exist, and if so, where would I find them?

Thanks!!

FS

As you’ve noticed, many items don’t have serial numbers. In our organization, I use a vibra-etch tool to inscribe serial number on all our expensive equipment. I use the system YY-MM-## for each item, which works fine as long as I don’t buy more than 99 of something in a single month! The usefulness of the number is that I can tell how old a part is by looking at the number…sometimes useful for warranty or simply moving batteries from competition use to the trainers, for instance.
