V5 Vision Sensor Firmware Update

I’m using a Vex V5 Vision Sensor (not the AI Vision Sensor) and when I try to open the configuration utility, I get a message asking for a firmware update.

When I click update, it opens a file selection window that seems to be asking for a .hex file

If I exit the file selection window I get the following error, and the vision sensor won’t display in the config window.

Does anyone know how to complete this firmware update? I can’t find the .hex files online, and when connected to the online vex utility, it doesn’t prompt any kind of automatic update.

Is my vision sensor bricked?

There has never been a vision sensor update.

The vision sensor would go into the update mode if plugged in to USB when the button on the sensor is pressed.
