Is there a way that we could cut ventilation slots in 393 motors? We are having trouble with overheating flywheel motors.
<R16> Some part modifications are permitted, with the following restrictions and clarifications:
a. Motors (including the internal PTC or Smart Motor firmware), microcontrollers (including V5
Robot Brain firmware), extension cords, sensors, controllers, battery packs, reservoirs,
solenoids, pneumatic cylinders, and any other electrical component or pneumatics
component of the VEX EDR platform may NOT be altered from their original state in ANY
way.
Try using compressed air cans, those might help a bit
But if your motors are overheating, you might want to double check what’s causing the overheating first
nope, unfortunately that wouldn’t be allowed. but really, if they’re overheating, then you don’t have enough power, try adding more motors, or reducing the flywheel ratio.
If you are tripping the PTCs in the motors then you have a design issue. Can you post a picture and specs of the gearbox for your flywheels? What internal (motor) and external gear ratios are you using?
