Hello! We are a team that would like to build a blocker. We have a lot of open space in the middle, and we have a catapult we could build off of. We do not have pneumatic’s. We would also like a quick build. Thanks!

While pneumatic blockers are definitely better, motor blockers are possible. The current meta design for things like blockers is the Two Stage Blocker, but this is best used with pneumatics.
If you want to do a really, really simple design, get a winch with some string tied around it, get a free-swing arm and tie the string to the top of the arm and have the winch pull the ar up as it is rotated by a motor.
This is really limited though, and I think the best thing would be to do some kind of arm that just raises up to block, and you could even use it to do horizontal climb if you put a ratchet on it.
There are a bunch of other design options that you can go with, though. Just look up ‘VEX Over Under blocker’ and a bunch of videos will pop up on bot explanations with blockers.
