Hi!
I wanted to start using CAD for our team. Sadly, there wasn’t anyone who was experienced with CAD, so I came here. It would be awesome if I get some suggestions for a program that I should use as well as where to get vex parts.
Hi!
I wanted to start using CAD for our team. Sadly, there wasn’t anyone who was experienced with CAD, so I came here. It would be awesome if I get some suggestions for a program that I should use as well as where to get vex parts.
Here’s information about the CAD programs and parts libraries available for VEX Robotics (just updated today to include information about Onshape): CAD for VEX Robotics.pdf (299.7 KB)
Inventor is the most common cad program used for vex from what I have seen, although I use solidworks, inventor is easy to get.
You could use Fusion 360 which is free for Vex teams.
Depending on which program you chose, there are libraries people have made of vex parts which can easily be found by searching the forum. (Some libraries don’t work with all programs, make sure you find one that will work with whatever you chose)
The cad library should be in this link right here. You have to create an education account to get it for free for 3 years.
