Vex Coding Studio vs Vex Code Text

Ok, so I know Coding Studio is outdated. I am attempting to switch to VexCode so we can get an auton done. The dilemma is that VexCode crashes and costed three teams we know of their code. Why is VexCode better tan VCS?

What OS are you using? I find VEXCode Text very stable. If you’re running WIN10 there’s an awesome restore feature that will ‘reinstall’ the OS w/o loosing your files. WAY worth while! (you do have backups, right?)

There are a lot of things that, IMHO, make it better

Perhaps most importantly VCS is obsolete - there are no software/firmware/hardware updates.

VCode has many more useful objects like drivetrain and last, but not least, it allows downloading code through the controller (like cortex w/$40 programming module)

Also VCode is ‘real-world’ - the files are separated such that it allows using the IDE of your choice as well as integrate version control & Git

IMO the one thing VCS does better is the Blocky code also generates text. Especially great when it comes to supporting other people’s code …

You could try Robot Mesh…but IMHO get a stable OS first…

VEXcode is much better! And it does not take much effort to switch over because you can import your Vex Coding Studio file into VEXcode, and it will instantly put it into VEXcode. They are both similar languages but VEXcode is much better. Also, I recommend you keep multiple copies of your code if it keeps crashing, but you may have not installed it properly because I don’t think it should have caused three of your teams to lose their code  Consider reinstalling, like @jrobitai mentioned above!

Might I recommend using pros? It works pretty well on lower range hardware
