What is the age range for the VEX U competition?

It does not specify the range. It only says University level students
That’s correct. Because being on a U-team does not depend on the age of the students, it is based on their academic status. Basically, a U-team member needs to be a high school graduate who is enrolled in a college or university class, it doesn’t matter what age they are, but the wording of the rule is such that a current high school student can’t be on a U-team.

It also means that someone who is 60 can enroll in a community college and start playing!
